Image via Wikipedia"SUNY Stony Brook, in collaboration with DDI, Fay J. Lindner Center, and Coyne and Associates, is currently recruiting mothers of children ages 2-8 with autism spectrum disorders for a study on the relationship between challenges of family life and intervention outcome. The study seeks to acknowledge the challenges of family life when a child has autism and allow researchers to understand these difficulties better so that effective supports can be provided. This study involves completing a survey about your psychological well-being, relationships between family members, family
resources, as well as your child’s level of problem behavior. The survey will take approximately 1 hour to complete. At the conclusion of this study you will receive a $10 Target giftcard for your time and copy of a presentation being given in the New York area. The presentation will be about how family challenges may influence child problem behavior and will contain the results of the study. A handout will be provided with a resource list of additional services which may provide more effective support.
